Description

Austen Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the early 19th century. It is built of local stone that has been rendered and colorwashed, topped with a clay pantiled roof featuring plain gables and brick chimney stacks. The cottage has two storeys and three bays. It features 12-pane sash windows in plain openings. Between the second and third bays, there is a six-panel door set into a deep semi-circular arched recess, which has a radial glazed fanlight above it. There is an outshut at the rear. The interior has not been seen.
