Description
Charlton Adam Post Office and Stores is a detached house and shop built around 1830. It is constructed from local lias stone that is cut and squared, and features a Welsh slate roof with stepped coped gables and Ham stone ashlar end chimney stacks. The building has two storeys with an attic and consists of three bays. The windows are 12-pane sash windows set in plain openings with flat voussoired arched heads. The first bay has an early 20th-century shop front with two-pane display windows and toplights on either side of a recessed glazed door, topped with a slim hood on brackets without a fascia. The second bay features a Regency pattern six-panel door with a diamond glazed rectangular fanlight above. There is a garage on the north side and an extension to the rear, which are not of special interest. The interior has not been seen.
