Description
Vale House is a detached house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from local lias stone that has been cut and squared, topped with a Welsh slate roof featuring simple gables and brick end chimney stacks. The building has a double roof plan and stands two storeys high with three bays. The sash windows have 16 panes and are flanked by louvred shutters, all set beneath timber lintels. In the second bay, there is a six-panelled door located in a semi-circular arched opening, topped with a radial glazed fanlight. This door is sheltered by a timber and lead-covered hood supported by simple brackets, which may date from the early 20th century. At the rear, there is a small semi-circular headed sash window in the stairwell, and in the attic gable of the rear extension to the north, there is a two-light hollow chamfered mullioned window, possibly from the 19th century. The interior has not been seen.
