Description
Icentown House is a detached house built in the early 19th century, after 1803, with only internal remodelling. It is constructed from local lias stone that is cut and squared, topped with a Welsh slate roof that has a shallow pitch and features stepped coped gables. The house has stone end chimney stacks with moulded caps. It stands two storeys tall and has three bays. The windows are sash windows with 16 panes and flat voussoired heads. The lower bay contains a part-glazed door set under a dovetailed stone lintel, which is sheltered by a late 20th-century open timber porch that has pilasters and a bracketed segmental arched hood. Inside, there are some ledged and braced doors, a later 19th-century staircase, and some early 19th-century boarded partitions. A fireplace bell and a bread oven are located at the rear. The first floor has not been seen. There are extensions to the west and east at the rear.
