Description
The Riggs is a detached cottage dating from around 1800. It is built from local stone, which is rendered and colourwashed, and features a thatched roof with half-hips. The cottage has brick end chimney stacks that are also colourwashed and have traditional baffles. It is a single-storey building with an attic and consists of three bays.
On the ground floor, there are two-light horizontal-bar casement windows, with an additional single-light window added to the left of the first bay. In the attic, there are three-light casement windows set into the roof, with pointed-arch lights; the left two are rectangular-leaded and have iron-framed opening lights. Between the first and second bays, there is a projecting porch that is rendered and has a slate roof, featuring an early 20th-century pattern inner door. There is also a lean-to structure with a triple-roll clay tiled roof against the east gable. The interior has not been seen.
