Description
This is a row of cottages built in the earlier 19th century. They are located on the south side of West Street in Somerton. The cottages are constructed from local lias stone, cut and squared, and have a double Roman clay tile roof with plain gables. The chimney stacks are a mix of brick and stone.
The row comprises five bays, with Bridge House occupying the eastern three bays. The windows are sash windows with 16 panes, set in plain openings and have dovetailed stone lintels. Bridge House features a flush-panelled door with a glazed toplight in the second bay. Trundle Cottage has a similar door to the left of bay four, and Iverson has a 20th-century glazed door to the right of bay five. A straight joint is visible between bays three and four. The interiors have not been inspected. This row of cottages contributes significantly to the streetscape.
