Description

Gilpins is a cottage located in a row on West Street in Somerton, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from local stone that is roughly squared and coursed, topped with a clay pantile roof supported by abutments, and features brick chimney stacks at each end. The cottage has two storeys and consists of two bays. It has sash windows with 16 panes; the upper windows have been modified and are set in plain openings, while the lower windows feature voussoired flat arches. Between the bays, there is a glazed door in a matching opening. The interior has not been seen.
