Description
Rosemary Cottage is a detached cottage, possibly dating from the 17th century. It is constructed of local lias stone laid randomly and features a thatched roof that is hipped at the south end, along with brick chimney stacks at both ends. The cottage has two storeys and three bays, with the third bay being a later addition. It has 2-light casement windows, with early date frames, and no window in the upper part of bay three. The lower windows have roughly voussoired flat heads. Between the first and second bays, there is a boarded door in a heavy frame, which is sheltered by a thatched hood. To the north gable, there is a later single-storey extension with a hipped thatched roof, and there is a 20th-century lean-to against the south gable. Although the interior was not seen, it is noted to have a fireplace with a cambered arched timber lintel in the north gable.
