Corner cottage at junction of 2 rows, set back from the remainder in South Street and proud of the row in High Street. Probably C18. Ham stone rubble, ashlar dressings; thatched roof with stepped coped north gable, hipped with partial continuation to south; brick chimney stacks. Two storeys, 2 bay east elevation. Hollow-chamfer mullioned windows in chamfered recesses, to first floor 3 and 4-light without labels, and to ground floor 4-light with label to lower bay 2: 6 panel door with toplights, under timber lintel to bay 1. Some straight joints in north gable; towards west a 16-pane sash window to first floor, and underneath a small square bay window having small-pane casements on an ashlar base, with lead flat roof. Interior not seen. Extending along whole frontage, from corner of No 51 (qv) with return back to north-east corner of this house, wrought-iron railings on low stone base with simple arrowhead tops, single gate to match opposite door, adding to the setting of the house and to the streetscene on a prominent corner. (Attached to south gable is No 51 (qv)).
