Description

St Anne's Cottage is a semi-detached cottage, likely built in the 18th century. It is constructed from roughly cut and squared ham stone with ashlar dressings and features a hipped thatched roof topped by a central brick chimney stack. The cottage is two storeys high and has two bays.

The windows include hollow-chamfer mullioned designs; the first-floor bay 1 has a three-light window set in a chamfered recess, while the upper bay 2 features a three-light window in a wave-mould recess. Both windows are rectangular-headed and have iron-framed opening lights, but no labels. On the ground floor, bay 1 originally had a two-light window, which has been replaced by a casement, although the label remains. In bay 2, there is a four-light mullioned window in a wave-mould recess with a label.

To the right of bay 1, there is a segmental-arched doorway with a plain boarded door set in a beaded frame, accessed by two steps. A lean-to building is attached to the south gable, covered with a double-Roman clay tiled roof. The interior has not been seen. The cottage is attached to No 49 on the north gable, which is also of group value.
