Description
This is an unidentified chest tomb located 2 metres south of St Barbara's chapel in the churchyard of the Church of St Lawrence. It dates from the early 17th century and is likely made of Doulting stone. The base is buried, and it features plain slab sides with a heavy flat top that has angled under-coving. On the south side, there is a panel that appears to have incised semi-circular headed panels, with dates at the base that could read 1769 and 1791; however, these would likely be later additions, and all lettering has been lost.
