LANGPORT CP NORTH STREET (East side) ST4226 11/129 Victoria House, with front boundary railings 17.4.59 GV II

House in row. Late C18. Rendered and colourwashed, Ham stone dressings; plain clay tile roof between coped gables; brick end chimneys. Two storeys, 4 bays. Sash windows of 12 panes in plain openings upper bays 2 and 3, and in composite angled bays to both levels of outer bays, set under lead flat roofs; between bays 2 and 3 pair part-glazed doors with cast-iron fretwork open porch, on 4 front columns, Chinese style with lead bell-hipped roof, set on 3 steps: to right of bay 4 another part glazed door in plain opening. Interior not seen. Boundary railings play special role in setting of house, with set-backs and curved sweeps to porch, framing the steps; twist spearhead point, with cast-iron urn finials to thicker standards, all set on low lias stone plinths. House with railings of very considerable streetscape value.
