Description
Greystoneham is a late 18th-century house located in a row on North Street in Somerton. It is constructed from local lias stone that has been cut and squared, topped with a clay pantiled roof featuring coped gables and stone and brick chimney stacks. The house has two storeys and three bays, with sash windows consisting of 12 panes in plain openings that have slightly segmental arched voussoired heads. In the lower bay two, there is a six-panelled door with a glazed toplight set in a heavy frame. Although the interior has not been seen, the property is complemented by front boundary railings that are made of wrought iron with simple square points and urn finials on standards, which are set on dwarf stone walls. These railings enclose a small garden and match the gate, contributing to the overall setting of the house.
