Description
Virginia is a house located at the end of a row, built in the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and is colourwashed on the front elevation. The roof is covered with plain clay tiles and features coped gables topped with ornamental finials, along with a single brick chimney stack at one end. The house has two storeys and consists of two bays. The windows are sash style with 12 panes, set in slightly segmental arched openings that have gauged brickwork heads. In the lower bay, there is a part-glazed door in a matching opening. Although the interior has not been seen, the exterior is complemented by front boundary railings. These railings are made of square wrought iron with twisted arrowhead points, standing about one metre in front of the house, and are set on a low lias stone wall with cast iron finials on the standards. There is no gate, and these features contribute to the overall setting of the house and the streetscape.
