Description

This is a barn with an open donkey wheel house, located about 35 metres north of Gunville Farm House. It is possibly from the 18th century and is built from local stone coursed rubble, with a corrugated iron roof over thatch. The barn has 10 bays and still contains a cider press and crusher. In the central bays on the south side is the open donkey wheel house, constructed similarly and featuring a semi-conoid roof supported by five brick piers. The machinery is no longer in place, making this a very rare survival in East Somerset.
