Description

Lesters is a house dating to 1700, located on Maperton Road in Charlton Horethorne. The building is constructed from local stone, cut and squared, with a Welsh slate roof and brick end chimney stacks. The south elevation features three bays and two storeys. It has hollow-chamfered mullioned windows; the outer bays have three lights, the central bay has two, and all contain modern casements. A moulded flat-headed doorway is positioned in the lower centre bay, leading to a 20th-century glazed door, above which is a decorative panel with the inscription "AL 1700". A former stair lean-to on the north side contains a two-light window with an ovolo moulding. The interior was largely destroyed, however two moulded surround fireplaces and a moulded rear doorway remain.
