Description
The stable, which includes a donkey wheel, is located immediately east of Bighton House and dates from the early 19th century. It is L-shaped and constructed of brick with some flint panels, topped with a slate roof. The stable features a long single-storey block with seven bays, and at right angles to the house, there is a two-storey, two-bay clock tower that has a clock face in the pediment and a cupola on the roof. In the other range, which is closer and parallel to the house, there is a four-storey, two-bay brewhouse with a hipped roof and a timber vent in the centre. Behind the brewhouse is a small single-storey building that has an excavated floor designed to accommodate a 19th-century donkey wheel, which measures 4 meters in diameter and 1 meter in height.
