Description
The ICAA Education Centre is a barn with an attached animal shed that has been converted into offices. It dates from the 18th century and underwent alterations in the late 20th century. The structure is timber-framed on a brick plinth and features weatherboarding, with the southwest end wall made of brick and flint. The roof is hipped with clay plain tiles and has lower eaves over the aisle at the rear, while the former animal shed to the northeast has a gable end. The barn consists of three bays with aisles at the rear and at both ends. At the front, there are double doors at the center, which are glazed behind. The rear former aisle has small windows.
Inside, the walls and arcade posts are jowled and feature straight braces connecting to the plates and tie-beams. The roof includes queen-strut trusses with clasped purlins, straight wind-braces, and common-rafter couples, along with carpenter's assembly marks. The floors and central staircase were added in the late 20th century.
