Description
Inner Lodge, also known as Beehive Cottage, is an early 19th-century lodge built from flint with rustic flint nodules. It features tree trunk posts supporting a thatched roof. The building is designed in the cottage orne style and consists of three small bays, all on a single storey with a verandah surrounding it. The central bay is canted and has a door at the front, which is adorned with three narrow vertical round-headed panels. On the canted sections, there are two-light casement windows with glazing bars and round-headed top panes. The verandah extends as a wide eyebrow over the central bay. The bays on either side have similar windows. The roof is steeply pitched and has a brick stack located at the center behind the ridge.
