Description
This pair of gate piers, located 75 metres north-north-east of Hardington House, dates from the early 19th century. They are constructed from ham stone ashlar and measure approximately 700 millimetres square and about 2 metres tall, including the finials. The piers feature a moulded plinth, incised decoration on the main face, cornice mould caps, and Adam style ball finials. There is a distance of about 3 to 5 metres between the piers, which are set into a rubble wall.
