Description
The Old Grammar School is a building that dates from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. Originally a school, it is now used as a house. The structure is roughcast with a slate roof, featuring coped verges and a single ashlar stack along with two brick stacks.
It stands three storeys high with a symmetrical two-bay frontage facing Church Street. The façade includes nine and twelve-pane sash windows of decreasing height, all set within stone architraves. There is a door opening on the left side, which features a five-panelled door in a similarly moulded stone architrave topped with a triangular pediment. To the right of the door, there is a twelve-pane sash window, and a similar sash window is located in the centre of the first floor.
