Description

Ivy Cottage is a house and school dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of brown brick in English garden wall bond and has graduated slate roofs. The house is two storeys high with a symmetrical elevation featuring two bays. The central door consists of six raised and fielded panels with an overlight, flanked by 16-pane sash windows with sills, all set under wedge lintels. On the first floor, there are two 16-pane sash windows with sills, also under wedge lintels. The house has an axial stack and a hipped roof. The school section is a single storey with three bays, featuring three 20-pane round-headed sash windows under brick arches, topped with a hipped roof.
