Description
The Church of St Lawrence is a Gothic Revival style church built in 1875. It is constructed from coursed rubble with freestone dressings and features graduated slate roofs, including an ornamental slate roof over a timber bell-cote. The church has a three-bay nave with a west bell-cote and a two-bay chancel.
The nave includes a chamfered plinth and two square-headed windows with two lights, featuring Perpendicular tracery. There is a pointed door with continuous mouldings beneath a hood-mould adorned with floral stops. The west bell-cote has pointed cusped openings beneath a broach spire. The chancel contains a re-set two-light square-headed window with cusped ogee tracery on the east side, and a two-light square-headed window with Perpendicular tracery on the west side. The east end features a three-light pointed window with reticulated tracery under a hood-mould. The building has raised coped gables throughout, supported by shaped kneelers.
