Description
The Bull Terrier is an inn that dates from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of random rubble with some ashlar, featuring a coped verge on the left and a slate roof with two brick ridge stacks. The building has two storeys and is arranged in a 1:1:1 bay configuration. A notable feature is the central full-height hipped roof square bay, which has a coved eaves cornice and stone mullioned casements. The front has two 2-light casements and a single light on each side, all with leaded lights. To the right, there is a door opening with a 6-panelled door, where the top two panels are glazed, and it is topped with a flat stone hood supported by plain brackets. Inside, the inn features a moulded cross-beam ceiling and a fireplace with a broad wooden bressumer. The building is included primarily for its group value with other structures on Long Street.
