Description
The structure consists of a wall, railings, gates, and gate piers located at the front of Number 26, built in 1828 and the late 19th century. The low wall is made of Ham Hill stone and is attached to the southwest corner of Number 28, curving backward to enclose the garden of Number 26. On the far right, there is a late 19th-century cast-iron gate set between cast-iron supports, which likely served as a former tradesmen's entrance and is now the rear entrance to St Martin's School. To the left of this gate are similar double gates and two gate piers topped with pyramidal caps, one of which has been rebuilt. The remaining front is adorned with complex Regency-style railings that feature a horizontal band of pierced rope-pattern near the base, paired scrolls above, festoons looped to alternate railings, and three-pronged finials. Opposite the front door, there is another cast-iron gate on cast-iron supports, similar to the one on the right.
