Description
Gates and garden railings to Number 18 are mid-19th century features, with some 20th-century alterations. They are made of cast iron and have a low stone coping. The railings are topped with pointed bulb-shaped finials, while the standards have urn finials. The gateposts are circular in shape above octagonal bases and feature ball finials. In front of the doorway to Number 18, there is a pedestrian gate. To the right, there is a second similar gate, and to the left, there are double gates. The railings extend to the left for approximately 4.0 meters along St Peter's Grove and have been altered to end at the steps of a 20th-century footbridge. These gates and railings are included for their group value as an integral part of Number 18, which is associated with St Peter's School Annexe.
