GV II

House, now part of school. c1840, altered late C19. White brick with painted stone dressings and slate roof. EXTERIOR: symmetrical. 2 storeys and 3 bays. The windows are sashed without glazing bars. The central bay on the 1st floor breaks forwards slightly. The 1st floor windows have sill bands and rubbed brick flat arches. On the ground floor a later C19 addition projects forwards under a slate roof. In the central bay it forms an open porch to the front door and to each side it has paired windows separated by brick pillars and with painted lintels. The door has 4 raised and fielded panels and an architrave and overlight. Modillioned timber cornice gutter. Gable chimneys. INTERIOR: not inspected. Alterations at rear and large modern extensions are not of special interest.
