Description
The paved garden walk, gate, railings, and gate piers serve as the entrance to Number 10 Castle Street. The approach features a fine 18th-century wrought iron gate made of square bars arranged in panels, complemented by additional dog rails, scroll panel side standards, and an elaborate scroll pyramid overthrow. The gate is currently set between a pair of square modern brick posts topped with stone capping and stone ball finials. There are plain brick dwarf walls with capping and plain brick piers with capping at the corners. The late 18th-century scroll pattern side rails remain but are currently enclosed by a thick hedge. This structure is part of a group of listed buildings that includes Nos 1 to 9 Lowndes Buildings on the west side of Castle Street.
