Description

The former stable block, located about 5 metres south-west of Haselbury House Wing, is likely from the 18th century. It is constructed of ham stone rubble and features plain clay tiles over stone slate base courses, topped with stepped coped gables and a windvane on the north gable. The building has two storeys and a three-bay east elevation. The windows are casements of various patterns set under timber lintels. The upper bays one and three contain pairs of boarded loft doors, while the lower bay two has a pair of wide timber garage doors with an elliptical-arched fanlight above, flanked by stable doors on either side. The north gable has 20th-century casement windows, and there is a lean-to in the centre of the west side, likely built at the same time as the original structure. The main roof has 20th-century rooflights on its west slope. The interior has not been seen. This building holds significant group value with Haselbury House and Haselbury Wing.
