SO58NE Stable block to north of Heath House 482-1/1/139

GV II

Stable block with hayloft over. Late C18 or early C19. Coursed stone rubble with ashlar dressings. Plain clay tile roof. L-shaped plan. EXTERIOR: single storey and loft. South-east side to farmyard has stable doors at each end and window opening to centre right, all set in stone segmental arched openings. Roundel with stone voussoirs to loft. Right-hand return gable partly masked by 6-bay rubble stone byre. South-west side to entrance drive: roundel with stone voussoirs to loft over 2 window openings set in stone segmental arched openings at ground level. Left return gable end: 2 simple framed openings with flat stone lintels. INTERIOR: simple king-post trusses with single trenched-purlin roofs.
