Description
The stable block located to the north of Heath House dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed stone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a plain clay tile roof. The building has an L-shaped plan and is a single storey with a loft.
On the south-east side facing the farmyard, there are stable doors at each end and a window opening to the centre right, all within stone segmental arched openings. Above, there is a roundel with stone voussoirs for the loft. The right-hand return gable is partly obscured by a 6-bay rubble stone byre. The south-west side, which faces the entrance drive, features a roundel with stone voussoirs above two window openings, also set in stone segmental arched openings at ground level. The left return gable end has two simple framed openings with flat stone lintels.
Inside, the stable block has simple king-post trusses supporting a single trenched-purlin roof.
