GV II
First World War memorial. c1920, amended after 1945. Doulting stone ashlar. In a medieval style, with a 2-moulded-step octagonal base, square plinth with base broaches, then almost cuboid base having corner attached shafts, moulded base and top frieze with florets in moulding, framing bronze panels with the names of the war dead; square main shaft, with incised design of sword point downwards on north face, changing into octagonal with ogee crocketed gables over shields with national emblems; at top an ornate tabernacle, square on plan, with a bronze figure in an ogee niche to each face, crocketed pyramidal roof.
