Description
The Hoskins chest tomb, dating from the mid-18th century, is located in a railed compound six meters north of the organ chamber door in the churchyard of the Church of St Lawrence. This low chest tomb is made of local stone ashlar and features a plain base with a flat top that has a heavy roll moulding. The inscription on the lid, accompanied by a coat of arms, commemorates John Hoskins, who died in 1746, and Elizabeth, who also died in 1746. The surrounding railings are made of wrought iron, with plain waisted spikes and bows at each end.
