Description
The monument to Kedgwin Hoskins is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 6 metres south of the porch door to the Church of St Mary. It dates from the early 18th century and is made of sandstone. The tomb features a thick top with a moulded edge, lyre ends, fielded panels, and a moulded base. It commemorates Kedgwin Hoskins, who died in 1743, and lies immediately west of the path leading to the church entrance. The design is characteristic and of high quality, although it was noted to be overrun by ivy during the survey in November 1983.
