Description

The Hosken tomb is a chest tomb from the 18th century, located 4 meters south of the Church of St Stephen in Launceston. It was erected by John Hosken of Carinels in memory of his parents, Richard, who died in 1782 at the age of 72, and Edeth, who died in 1791 at the age of 80, as well as his sisters, Jane, who died in 1753 at the age of 14, and Edeth, who died in 1771 at the age of 28. The tomb is constructed from slatestone rubble and features an incised slate lid, with a rectangular plan.
