Description
The Hollies is a village house dating from the late 18th century. It features stucco or render on what is likely rubble, topped with rag slate hipped roofs and rendered axial stacks. The building has a double-depth plan with a separately roofed service wing on the left side. It stands two storeys tall and has an overall five-window range. The windows are probably original or early 19th century hornless sashes with glazing bars.
On the ground floor, there is a large 20th-century conservatory towards the right, in front of a symmetrical three-window front that includes a round-headed central doorway. This doorway contains the original six-panel door with fielded panels and a spoked fanlight above. At the rear, the house retains original sashes, including a round-arched stair sash with a fanlight head. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
