Description
This semi-detached cottage, located about 130 meters northeast of Kingsdon Manor School, dates back to the 17th century. It is constructed from local lias stone that has been cut and squared, with Ham stone dressings. The roof is made of Welsh slate and features a stepped coped gable on the south side, along with a yellow brick chimney stack.
The cottage has two storeys with an attic and consists of two bays, one of which has an extension. The northwest elevation includes an extension with a catslide roof. Bay 1 features a 2-light window with hollow chamfered mullions set in wave mould recesses, complete with square labels. Bay 2 has a similar 2-light window above and a 3-light window below, both plain glazed. There is also a 2-light window in the return of bay 1, which has rectangular leaded panes and an iron-framed opening light, but no label. Below this window is a 6-panel door with a glazed toplight in a plain opening, and to the left is a plain boarded door. The lower extension on the south gable has two storeys, featuring a 6-panel door, casement windows, and a single-storey pantiled extension.
The rear elevation includes 12-pane sash windows. The interior of the cottage has not been seen.
