Description
Tudor Cottage is a semi-detached cottage dating from the 17th century. It features coursed squared and dressed limestone along with square-panelled timber framing that includes tension bracing, topped with a stone slate roof and ashlar stacks. The building has a rectangular plan and includes a 20th-century extension at the rear that is in keeping with the original style.
The cottage is one and a half storeys high, with a flat-chamfered plinth on the stone-built section. On the ground floor, there is a 2-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casement window with a stopped hood, and above it, a 3-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casement window with a stopped hood is set in a Cotswold dormer. The entrance features a plank door with fillets, which is set back within a 3-centred arched surround that has enriched spandrels and a stopped hood, located at the lower left.
To the left, the timber-framed section has one 2-light and one 3-light wooden casement window with leaded panes on the ground floor, and a 3-light dormer above. The cottage also has twin axial and gable-end stacks, with flat coping and a pointed finial on the Cotswold dormer. The interior has not been inspected.
