ST4409 OXEN ROAD 876-1/7/152 (West side) No.9 Hinton Villa and attached walls, railings, gate and gate piers

House. Early C19. Squared and coursed limestone with Ham Hill stone plinth, doorcase and quoins, stepped stone coping to right gable end, and brick stacks to gable ends. Double-depth plan with late C19 rear extension. 2 storeys; symmetrical 3-window range. All windows to the front are 3-light casements each with 2 panes, under flat gauged stone arches. The stepped elliptical-arched doorcase with imposts, has a 6-panel door with a Regency-style knocker and a fanlight with four radiating panes. INTERIOR not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached to the left side of the house is a long, English-bond brick wall, joining a coursed limestone rubble revetment wall fronting the house; this supports pointed railings and a matching gate. To the right, it meets a higher brick wall which sweeps up from railing-level with Ham Hill stone coping. To the rear of the house are tall brick piers with a Ham Hill stone cap.
