Description

Nos. 9 and 11 on Gouldsbrook Terrace are two houses built around 1830-1840. They are constructed of limestone ashlar with lower courses, cills, and door cases made from Ham Hill stone. The houses have a slate roof and brick stacks at each right gable end. Each house has a double-depth plan and is two storeys high, with a two-window range.

Both houses feature four-panel doors on the left side, which are topped by fanlights with radiating glazing bars. The doorcases are stepped back and have imposts to the archivolts. The fanlight of No. 11 retains three radiating panes. Above the doors, there are flat gauged arches over 8/8-pane sashes, except for the first-floor left window of No. 11, which has a 20th-century stone lintel. No. 9 has a similar arrangement, with a 4/4-pane sash above the door and some original fanlight elements with margin-panes, but lacks ornamental details.

The houses are fronted by low limestone rubble walls topped with Ham Hill stone coping, which support spearhead railings. The interiors have not been inspected.
