Description

These are two cottages located in Court Barton, dating from the mid-19th century. They are constructed of roughly-shaped limestone rubble, with Ham Hill stone used for the lower courses. The front has a plain tile roof, while the rear of No. 8 has lower courses of stone slates. The roofline features stepped stone coping with moulded kneelers, and brick stacks are visible on the gable ends and the central dividing wall. The cottages have a double-depth plan and are each symmetrical, with a two-window front. All windows are 3-light casements with three panes of glass in each light, set under flat, gauged stone arches. The front doors are 19th century designs, each having two lights of three panes at the top. The rear windows are 2 and 3-light casements with wooden lintels. The interior has not been inspected.
