Description

Wilton War Memorial is a war memorial made of Hamstone. It features a two-stepped octagonal base topped with a square plinth. From the plinth rises a plain shaft, which supports a carved Calvary cross at the center of the cross head, with the figure of Christ depicted in relief.

The memorial includes incised inscriptions on the plinth and base that honor those who fell in the First World War. The inscription reads: "THE / GREAT WAR / 1914 – 1919 / THEIR NAME LIVETH / FOR EVERMORE / (NAMES)."
