Pair Of Cottages About 50 Metres North West Of The Dower House

This pair of cottages, located about 50 metres north-west of the Dower House, has origins dating back to the 17th century and was remodelled around 1900. The cottages feature a ham stone ashlar facade, with coursed rubble on the sides and rear, and a Welsh slate roof that has stepped coped gables and brick end chimney stacks. They are two storeys tall and consist of two bays.

On the ground floor, there are three-light ovolo-mullioned windows with rectangular leaded glass set in wave-mould recesses, complete with labels. The upper floor has three-light horizontal-bar casement windows. To the left of the east cottage, there is a boarded door framed heavily, leading to a timber and pantiled open porch. The gables have 20th-century windows, both timber and steel casements, although the east gable features one leaded casement window on the first floor. There are extensions at the rear, but the interior has not been seen.
