Description
Raby Cottages are two cottages dating from the 17th century, constructed from rubblestone and ashlar with a Welsh slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high and consist of four bays. In the second bay and the inside of the fourth bay, there are six-panel doors set in plain stone surrounds, with the door to the right located below a 20th-century wooden porch. The outer bays feature 4-light double-chamfered mullioned and transom windows, while the third bay has a similar window with three lights. A moulded continuous dripmould runs above the windows. On the first floor, all windows are 3-light mullioned windows, except for small square casements in the second bay. The cottages have stone copings and returned kneelers, with end stacks and one stack on the ridge. Inside the right-hand cottage, there is a large inglenook fireplace.
