- CHURCH SQUARE 5365 (East Side) Gates and piers with railings at west end of the Church of St Mary Magdalene St T 2224 NE 9/1A
II GV
- Second half of C19. Gatepiers with gates come forward in centre. Piers of ashlar with a pinnacle and band of crenellation to each. Double wrought-iron gates with scrollwork above and multi-foiled motifs below crossbar. Running back to left and right are low stone walls surmounted by wrought-iron scrolled railings divided at regular intervals by square ashlar piers with crenellated tops. A 2nd set of wrought-iron gates with similar detail to the left. A further gateway without gates opposite south porch.
All the listed buildings in Church Square together with the Church of St Mary Magdalene and the listed buildings in Hammet Street form an extremely important group.
