Description
St Mary's Vicarage is located to the north of the churchyard and is believed to date back to 1308, although the earliest features in the current house appear to be from the 16th century or early 17th century. The building has undergone later alterations and is constructed of red brick with tiled roofs, standing two storeys high. It has three windows featuring modern casements with leaded lights on the upper floor, while the ground floor showcases old oak doorframes and mullioned windows. There is a brick porch with a pointed stone arch at the center. An attractive early 19th-century dining room has been added to the back of the house. St Mary's Vicarage is part of an important group of listed buildings in Church Square, which includes the Church of St Mary Magdalene and other listed buildings in Hammet Street.
