Description
Churchyard railings, gates, and gatepiers are located north of the Church of St Mary Magdalene in Chulmleigh. These features date from the 19th century and consist of cast and wrought iron railings set on a low rendered plinth. The railings have larger verticals at intervals, adorned with scrolled brackets on the south side, and all are topped with fleur-de-lys style finials. The gatepiers and gates, situated in the second bay from the left end, are designed in a similar style. The gatepiers are square in section and feature a Greek key motif, while the gates have fleur-de-lys finials on the dog, middle, and top rails.
