Description

Sun Cottage is a house dating from the early 19th century, situated on The Square in Chulmleigh. It is built of unrendered brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a stone plinth. The roof is slate, with gable ends and a rendered ridge stack. The house follows a shallow three-room plan, with the right-hand room originally used as a shop. The exterior is two storeys high, featuring a three-window front. The windows are hornless sash windows with 16 panes, set within flush sash boxes. A six-panelled door is positioned between the two left-hand windows, accompanied by an integral shop window composed of six large panes and a plank door at the right end, with a plain fascia. The interior has not been inspected.
