Description
Dolphin Cottage is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is located in Landwell Street, Padstow. The front of the house is constructed of Flemish bond brick, which has been painted, and has a slate roof with gable ends.
The original layout was likely a double-depth plan, with an entrance near the centre and two main rooms at the front, served by end stacks. A second entrance on the left likely led to a rear alleyway.
The two-storey front elevation features a regular pattern of windows with brick segmental arches. The main part of the house to the right has two 19th-century sash windows with 16 panes, each without horns, flanking a 19th-century six-panel door. Two further 19th-century sash windows with 16 panes and hornless sashes are located on the first floor. To the left, a 20th-century plank door is set beneath a 20th-century window, replacing an earlier opening.
The interior of the house has not been inspected.
