Description
The garages located directly to the south of the Golden Lion public house date from the early 19th century and were likely originally stables for the pub. They are now used as a garage with a store above. The building is constructed from rendered and painted stone rubble and brick, featuring a painted rag slate hung front above the ground floor. It has a slate roof with hipped ends.
The overall plan is rectangular, with garage doors on the ground floor. The exterior is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical two-window front, with garage doors on the ground floor. Above the ground floor, there is slate hanging, and near the centre, there is an early 19th-century 16-pane hornless sash window in a partly blocked opening. To the right, there is an early 19th-century 12-pane hornless sash window. An external staircase, dating from around the 20th century, is located to the left.
