Description
The churchyard railings and gates to the Church of St Mary, located in Weymouth, date from the early 19th century and are made of cast and wrought iron. To the north of the church, there is a footpath with pairs of gates at either end, leading to lightweight railings with spearhead tops along St Mary Street and Maiden Street. These railings are complemented by lower railings that border the footpath. On the south side, there is another pair of gates followed by a short section of railing that runs along Church Passage, connecting to the extended vestry wall. This section features heavier railings with fleur-de-lis cappings, including lower dog-bars, although many of the lower cappings have been broken off. The railings are set against a weathered dwarf stone wall.
